"Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Mt 6:33) Please read this verse twice and reflect on it. Then offer your prayer for the church as you are led.

Pray for the CYA & CYA+ leaders as they teach and role model to the youth how Psalms are directly relevant to the lives of the youth.

Pray for the growth of our students when meeting more often online and for opportunity to reach newcomers.

Pray that the videos, songs, activities and children's talks that are available each week for Sunday School children can also be shared with family and friends.  Thank God for those who faithfully create these each week.

Online teaching in the third semester went smoothly, thank God for full attendance from all the students and the teachers have been teaching earnestly!

Church-wide Ministry and Direction
Today (6/9) is Father's Day. Pray that God will strengthen the fathers of our church. Pray also for the single fathers who are struggling, those fathers who are being alienated from their children, and those, for whatever reason, who simply could not live up to being loving and responsible fathers. Pray that Heavenly Father will lift them up by His grace and mercy.

Praise God that many of our families are getting involved in our Sunday School and Youth Group activities, Living Word bible studies and enjoying the opportunity to keep meeting up.

National & International Situations 
300,000 families were displaced by the blast in Beirut, Lebanon in August. Premier Christian News reported that many victims are being persuaded to sell up and leave the area by the developers looking to make money from the disaster. Beirut’s road to recovery would be long and complicated, but one Christian leader remarked “our hope is Christ.” Please pray for the Lord's mercy, provision and comfort to the people in Beirut.

Praise God that we can use Zoom to catch up with the children and encourage them to think more about God.  Pray for those children who have not been able to join.

Pray for the health of all teachers and students and pray that students will study hard the Chinese language, parents will cooperate and supervise their children during the pandemic.

Pray for the psychological and spiritual health of many within our church family who are physically fragile, have chronic illnesses or live by themselves that the Lord continues to bless and sustain them.

The current pandemic is a crisis like no other, and there is substantial uncertainty about its impact on people’s lives and livelihoods all over the world. As people feel financial strain during the uncertainty, pray for comfort, peace and realization that God is there for them.

Open Doors reported that one Sri Lankan church is helping provide emergency relief for their persecutors, despite their several attacks on the church's attendees. According to local believers, this simple act of generosity has transformed their community like never before. Please be praying as many Sri Lankan churches also navigate suffering under persecution. Also pray for provision over Sri Lankan families struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Praise God that many of our Children’s talk presenters, music teams and those involved in Sunday services are enjoying the challenge of each role. Keep praying for those involved in putting the online Sunday services together.

Give thanks to God for the members who have finished their study of the 6 books of “Life of Christ”. And give thanks to God that graduates will continue to serve God in other Bible study groups. Pray also for new teachers and those who will attend the class.

Benn family in Mongolia
 • Pray that the local Christians would desire and be committed to meeting together. Pray that their love for the Lord and desire to serve Him would be rekindled.
 • Thank God for the time away with our staff. Pray that as our relationships with them deepen, they would see Christ reflected in our lives and desire to know Him for themselves.  
 • Pray that the Lord would continue to bring in business, and especially new guests.
 • Continue to pray that we will be able to meet with Aagii and Tseerei to finish the Christianity Explained course. With all the busyness of tourists and visitors, none of us have been free to meet for a few weeks.
 • Pray that we would be able to get back to Australia as planned in October.

Thank God that many from CPC attended the online Intentional Disciple-Making Church (IDMC) Conference in August, and greatly benefited from the teaching. Continue to pray that more will aspire to learn to be Christ's disciple for His glory.

Tan family in East Asia
- Because of travel restriction, we thank God for being able to spend more time with their neighbours.
- Twice a week they have been running English language life skills learning activities in their apartment complex and getting to know families better.
- Pray for the family to be a blessing and witness for Him in their local community.

Faithful Giving - During the current social distancing restrictions, we won't be able to collect cash offertory, which typically accounts for about 35% of our offertory income.  Let us pray that our members will remain faithful in their support of His work here at CPC, and that many more will now turn to online offertory (BSB 032-000 Acct 225830).

UNSW students will start their third semester in September, pray that God will prepare student group leaders that can lead the students fellowship for next term.  Pray that the planning of EMBS is according to God’s will and that it will run smoothly.

    • Pray for us to serve our local friends with mental illness in Word and prayer.
    • Pray for God to change Mr. Wu's heart and attitude, even though his situation has not changed.
    • Pray for us to plant seeds to Moana & Jojo and their family through weekly Bible story telling.
    • Pray for our local cauliflower farmer Mr. Chiu and his family to know that only God can cause real growth – whether natural or spiritual - as He is the source of Life, Growth and Grace.

National Situation
According to FamilyVoice Australia, online gambling rates have surged during the COVID 19 lockdown, with a 67% increase in online gambling. An earlier study of children aged 8-16 found that many have already gambled and research suggested that advertisements on TV during sports broadcasts for online gambling are to blame. Pray for the proper intervention from the authorities and that the Christian communities are able to reach out to those impacted.
