華人長老會教會歷史

華人長老會的歷史建基於紐省長老會在十九世紀推行的華人使命工作。早期的使命工作在租借的地方推行；1884年於Nithdale街和Goulburn街交界；1889年遷往Elizabeth街和Goulburn街交界。

直至1893年5月27日，第一座為華人使命而建的教會在Foster街開啟。

Foster街的使命工作在1897年發展為一間擁有由會眾舉薦為堂會牧師的教會。易年，John Young Wai 被按立為第一位會政，並與三位長老成立第一個華人教會的長老議會。後來Foster街的物業被政府收回，而華人會眾亦遷移至Campbell街新教堂。

華人會眾於1910年至1957年間在Campbell街堂址聚會。在五十年代其間，由於人數增加，華人會眾在華人長老會信託委員會的慷慨支持下，於1957年搬遷至皇冠街Fullerton紀念樓，即華人長老會現址。

1993年，華人長老會慶祝一百週年紀念。在悉尼眾多的華人教會中，華人長老會是歷史最悠久的一間。

我們相信聖經是神的話語,所以聖經是我們教導和基礎以及最高權威,我們亦與其他長老會一樣,認同衛斯敏斯特信條為聖經教導的綱要。

我們相信三為一體的上帝-聖父聖子聖靈。上帝從無有創造萬物,造男造女.萬物在起初本為美好。

可惜人不遵守上帝的話,從此罪進入了神的創造。人類與上帝被分隔，彼此的關係亦被破壞。

因著上帝對我們的慈愛，祂差自己的兒子耶穌基督來到世界。耶穌活出一個完全的生命，並死在十字架上。耶穌基督的死擔當了世人的罪。

聖父上帝使耶穌從死裏復活，升天，回到聖父那裏。

What we teach and believe at CPC

We believe that the bible is God’s written Word and is therefore the basis and ultimate authority for what we teach and practise. As Presbyterians, we also affirm the teaching of the Westminster Confession of Faith as a sound expression of what the Bible teaches.

CPC Church History

The Chinese Presbyterian Church has its roots in the work of the Presbyterian Chinese Mission begun by the Presbyterian Church of NSW in Sydney in the 19th Century.

In its early years, the work of the Mission was held in rented premises in 1884, in a house on the corner of Nithdale and Goulburn Streets, and later in 1889, in new premises on the corner of Elizabeth and Goulbourn Streets.
