After more than a month of Christmas, New Year and Lunar New Year celebrations, school holidays have come to an end. During this time, the Chinese Bible Study Class was in recess, however the celebrations provided many opportunities to renew relationships with brothers and sisters.

In these weeks, I went to many different gatherings. Due to the epidemic, there had been no chance to gather in person, and get to know each other deeply. At home gatherings, everyone can chat over a meal, and the atmosphere is really different.

In addition, everyone brought a plate. You can feel the food is prepared with love, and the atmosphere will be particularly. friendly and relaxed. In addition to talking about church, topics might include food, cooking, exchanging recipes, eventually talking about other things, things which happen in everyday life.

I really enjoyed this kind of fellowship life, talking about faith, talking about life, talking about spiritual things, watching and praying for each other, and opening their hearts.

This year's emphasis is on Discipleship Training, which includes fellowship life. Of course, fellowship is not just about food and drink, but Chinese people can deepen relationships through meals, which is in our character. But we can't just stay at the level of food and drink, we must go from material food to spiritual food, God's word, and each other's communication.

I really hope that this year's Discipleship Training, in addition to strengthening spiritual exercise, can deepen the relationship between church brothers and sisters through more gatherings, so that we can understand and care for each other more, and have a stronger relationship as the body of Christ.

Everyone can think about inviting some brothers and sisters who you don’t know well to have a meal together, get to know each other, and deepen the relationship, which may be the most favourite spiritual exercise for brothers and sisters.  Why not try it?
