The preparation for celebrating God’s faithfulness to CPC over the past 130 years is well underway. The online registration for the 130th anniversary service and the ticket sale for the anniversary dinner on June 11th open today. Please register as well as buy tickets for you, your family and friends early.

We have much to be thankful to God throughout the history of CPC. Yet as we look ahead, the future does present a challenging time for us with the lack of pastoral resources. There are currently four vacancies within the English and the Cantonese ministry. In addition, our Moderator, Rev Chris Chan, will retire from his role at the end of this year.

How may we be thankful to God when there has not been any successful recruitment of pastors or the new Moderator so far? What would the Lord like our whole congregation to learn and to experience in this time of need?

God has provided for CPC time and time again for the past 130 years. There is a recent example of God’s faithfulness to us while we were looking for a suitable venue to hold our anniversary service. The committee made numerous enquiries to all the schools which were known to us; but in the end, none of them were suitable for various reasons. Just when we were at our wit’s end, God opened a door for us. One of our committee members attended a meeting with other Chinese churches and the person sitting next to her introduced the current venue in their conversation.

Let us be thankful to God because God alone is our salvation and our refuge. God’s provision is certain and always timely. May the Lord be glorified as we prepare for the church anniversary.
